CDR Brian Wetzler

US Coast Guard, Retired, West Point Association of Graduates, Rockbound Highland Home Program Outreach Manager

Before retiring from the Coast Guard and settling into his role for the West Point Association of Graduates, CDR Wetzler began his career as a 1989 graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy. During Navy flight school he cross-commissioned to the U.S. Coast Guard where he qualified in the HH-65 Dolphin helicopter. He went on to serve 15 years as a search and rescue pilot and flight instructor, logging over 3,200 flight hours. Outside the cockpit, he served in several key leadership and operational roles, including the CG Attache at the U.S. Embassy, in Bogota, Colombia; and finally culminating as the Coast Guard’s Chief of Media Relations. He holds an M.S. in National Defense and Strategic Studies from the U.S. Naval War College, and an M.A. in Clinical Counseling from Argosy University.
