Rory Feely

Flight Test Pilot, FAA

Rory Feely works as a Flight Test Pilot for the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) where he works in partnership with industry to develop certification plans for fixed wing and rotary wing aircraft. He is heavily involved in Electric Vertical Takeoff & Landing (eVTOL) aircraft certification work. Prior to the FAA, Feely was the Commanding Officer of US Naval Test Pilot School (USNTPS) and an aviation engineering test pilot with experience on all aspects of aviation development, flight test, engineering and airworthiness. Feely has served as a Department of Defense Program Manager for Foreign Military Sales and has numerous combat tours and shipboard deployments as an operational pilot. Feely earned a bachelor’s degree in physics from University College Cork, Ireland; a Master’s in Technical Program Management from Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore, Maryland; a Master’s in Aerospace Engineering from Naval Postgraduate School, Monterey, California; and an Engineering Test Pilot diploma from USNTPS, Patuxent River, Maryland.
