
Thomas Gogel is the current Senior Expert for Product Safety Enhancement at Airbus Helicopters. In this role, Dr. Gogel provides leadership and expertise to establish and advance the strategic Aviation Safety Roadmap of Airbus Helicopters and assists and oversees all related projects. The responsibility comprises the alignment of the strategy with other industry stakeholders. Besides his 18 years of experience at Airbus Helicopter in various technical management functions, he brings an additional 16 years of aerospace engineering experience in rotary and fixed wing, ranging from maintenance management at Lufthansa Technik and Babcock International, program management experience at Fairchild Dornier and multiple years working on aerospace research projects at Stuttgart University and the University of Tennessee Space Institute.
He was the industry chairman of EHEST and ESPN-R, and represents Airbus Helicopters in the VAST Technology team.
He received a Diplom-Ingenieur degree and a doctorate degree from Stuttgart University and he is honorary professor of aerospace engineering.
